Fashion month is almost here, kicking off in New York this week. It’s a season of clothes! Shoes! Street style! People watching (read: spying) etc. But, wait – your ticket to the shows got lost in the post? Don’t worry. With digital media transforming the way we access shows today, you can now get just as great a view through each brand’s live stream (most of which are shoppable now, hello Tommy Hilfiger) and of course, the number one digital social tool, Instagram. So, if you are looking for the key fashion players to watch this season (other than us @wgsn), then check out this curated list from our catwalk editor Anna Ross. Here she reveals her global top-5 ‘grams to follow to stay in the know throughout the season. Pandora Sykes @pandorasykes Fashion Writer and podcast host Pandora Sykes’ eclectic style commands the clicks of street style photographers from season to season. With a magpie eye for accessorizing and some seriously witty captioning, Pandora’s Insta feed is a must-follow. Kate Foley @katefoley One of street-styles most recognizable faces – stylist and creative consultant Kate Foley is a fashion-week regular, known for her effortless, offbeat outfits. Follow Foley for daily self-style updates and front row footage, as well as a glimpse into her enviable shoe collection! Tamu McPherson @tamumcpherson Tamu started her fashion career behind the lens, taking street-style photos for Glamour.it. Soon, she became one of the photographer’s favourite street-style stars herself, as well as contributing to mega-magazines such as Elle then moving on to become Editor in Chief for Grazia Italy. Now, Tamu’s blog, All The Pretty Birds has gained her a legion of fans. Stay tuned to her Instagram for coverage both behind the cameras and in front of them too. Lou Stoppard @loustoppard ShowStudio’s Lou Stoppard’s satirical and intellectual take on the fashion scene has won her a steady following. Stoppard’s interviewed the creme-de-la-creme of the fashion and arts world – from Jay-Z to Dries Van Noten – and is due to launch her first book “Fashion Together” in October. Expect memes, art, and some refreshing self-mockery – Stoppard’s outlook is a breath of fresh air on the fashion week circuit. Pernille Teisbaek @pernilleteisbaek Scani-Chic Pernille Teisbaek quite literally wrote the book on Scandinavian Style – her sartorial style guide “Dress Scandinavian” is to be released this September. A front-row favourite during fashion week, expect effortless Danish dressing mixed with some serious statement pieces. Follow WGSN’s Anna Ross here for more Fashion Week insights.
