Ann-Kristin Kassler is a colour and trend enthusiast, with 10 years in fashion industry. During several roles in Berlin, New York and Hamburg, she honed her skill as a colour and concept manager for several global fashion companies (from Anna Sui to TrendONE, Tchibo and Landor). In her new role as trend advisory for Coloro, she highlights the reasons why new product Coloro will make your working day even easier (and brighter) when it comes to translating fashion and retail concepts into colour specifications. A tool box of colours As someone who has always loved colour as a source of inspiration, spotted everywhere from emerging street style trends, to new travel destinations, I’m so excited about this tool. So, what is Coloro? Basically, think of it as your one-stop colour shop, which equips you with the tools to tackle your day job. There’s 5 big boxes in the toolbox, made of 63 folders in total with wonderful colour swatches all placed in the hue system. Two things I like most about the toolbox: Well firstly, the sixth box with 5 folders, focuses 100 per cent on greys. Why is that so special, you ask? Well normally, grey sits at the back of your other hues (think red-grey, yellow-grey etc). But, Coloro brings grey front and centre, making it easier for you to navigate. Secondly, the toolbox provides 3 empty folders, so that you can create your own colour palette, you can even compare several seasons with each other to get a clearer overview for your work. Better yet, The Coloro system is based on 100 years applied science and 20 years’ research, developed by the experts in the market from forecasting to fashion and the colour industry. On the go colour Headed on a buying or research trip? Then the Coloro Codebook is a must. The handy ring book with all 3500 colours as polyester chips, and the sister product called Lookbook, a smaller pocket version, will make your life easier. Plus, every colour is uniquely coded (each colour has a 7-digit code), so no need for big registers and libraries of numbers. Just by looking at the code, you get an impression in which colour area it’s located and what kind of lightness and saturation the colour might have. It’s a win-win. Intrigued by Coloro?
